Ella Rene Terrell 1920-2017

Ella Rene Terrell 1920-2017 Ella Rene Terrell was born December 3rd 1920 in Muskogee Oklahoma. She was the seventh child born to Willie and Samella Brewster. All of whom preceded her in death. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in a small Missionary Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was to later join her husband’s family in being baptized as a Primitive Baptist member. Ella was a graduate of Middle School in her early teens. Upon moving to California she continued her education at a high school in Madera. Unfortunately she was unable to graduate due to her need to work to help support the family. She later attended Merritt College where she majored in upholstery. Ella was an avid reader of the Vallejo Times Herald. You were not to disturb her until she read every inch of that paper. Although never a political person, she would get fired up about articles that concerned the City of Vallejo. Upon moving to California, Ella met and married James E. Terrell. To this union eight children were born. They both worked tirelessly to establish a loving and stable environment for their children. During World War II both Ella and James worked at the Mare Island shipyard. While working at the shipyard, Ellarene was quickly noticed by the supervisors just how well...
